Sharp Adds Unique Advanced Finishing to Workgroup MFP Models

MAHWAH, N.J. --(Business Wire)-- July 19, 2004 -- New AR-F14 Saddle-Stitch Finisher Complements Sharp's Highly Successful AR-M237 and AR-M277 Digital Imagers

Sharp Document Solutions Company of America introduced a new saddle-stitch finisher designed to bring big-office document output capabilities to small and mid-size workgroup environments. The new AR-F14 is available for Sharp's AR-M237 and AR-M277 Digital Imager(TM) MFPs, and offers three-position stapling as well as saddle-stitch finishing. This feature allows users to easily create professional-looking booklets and pamphlets. An optional hole-punch module is also available that offers two or three hole-punching.

"Small offices and workgroups want machines that can produce professionally-finished documents in house, where they can better manage turnaround time and expenses," said George Grafanakis, senior product marketing manager, Sharp. "To help these companies improve productivity and minimize document production outsourcing, we paired the new AR-F14 finisher with two of our best-selling workgroup MFPs. The AR-M237 and AR-M277 Imagers represent Sharps' most advanced segment two MFP's ever that now offer businesses high-end functionality at an affordable cost when coupled with our new AR-F14 finisher."

The AR-F14 includes the following features:

-- Enhanced three-position stapling: binds up to 50 sheets

-- Create professional booklets: the AR-F14 offers saddle-stitch finishing, which staples documents in two places along the center margin of the page and then folds the paper into a pamphlet

-- Optional automatic hole punch module: to insert documents into a binder, the finisher can automatically punch two or three holes on legal, ledger or letter-sized paper

-- Automatic offset stacking for multiple sets

The new AR-F14 finisher is designed to help Sharp's AR-M237 and AR-M277 Imager customers achieve big-machine document finishing. The 23-PPM (page per minute) AR-M237 and the 27-PPM AR-M277 Digital Imagers are sophisticated workgroup MFPs packed with features typically found in more expensive high-volume models. Both models offer leading security features, enhanced network scanning, network printing as well as robust copying features that include electronic sorting, offset stacking, and cover page insertion.

The AR-F14 finisher is available for the AR-M237 and AR-M277 Digital Imagers through Sharp's national network of independent dealers at a list price of $3,095. The AR-M237 and AR-M277 are available at list prices of $5,650 and $6,995, respectively.
