Shenzhen to Build Auto Electronics Base
(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)SHENZHEN, Jun 01, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --Southern China's city of Shenzhen will build an automobile electronics industry-centralizing base with a total construction area of 1.2 square kilometers, which aims to achieve production value of some CNY 30 billion to CNY 40 billion by 2010.
The development of this base has obtained preferential policy support from the city government, and it will serve as a resource-sharing platform for public service and techniques in related fields like research and development, design, manufacturing, testing and sales.
At present, there are more than 100 companies in Shenzhen engaged in the production and sales of auto electronics products.
In terms of the products structure, these companies specialize mainly in automobile audio equipment, car-borne entertainment equipment, safety equipment and other auto communications equipment.
Especially in car-borne information system field, Shenzhen companies take up over 50% of the country's overall market.
In 2005, Shenzhen auto electronics industry reached sales of CNY 16 billion, and the figure is expected to rocket with the building of the planned industry centralizing base.
