IODA and Kiptronic Announce Partnership to Drive Independent Music Promotion
SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)-- Kiptronic, a leading ad marketplace for the podcasting industry, and IODA -- the global leader in digital distribution, marketing, and technology solutions for the independent music industry -- announced today a partnership to deliver promotional opportunities to artists and record labels via podcasts.
Kiptronic will provide a customized version of the Kiptronic Podcast Marketplace(TM) for use by IODA and its stable of more than 2,700 independent record labels and over 600,000 artist tracks.
Through use of the Kiptronic Podcast Marketplace(TM), IODA will be able to create geo-targeted promotional campaigns for its artists. For example, a band currently touring various cities in the Midwestern U.S. could use the Kiptronic Podcast Marketplace(TM) to deliver a promotional message about specific concert dates and locations, embedded in popular podcasts, to specific Midwest metro areas in advance of an upcoming concert.
"IODA Digital Marketing is pleased to offer our labels and artists another marketing opportunity that leverages innovative, viral channels," said Tim Mitchell, VP of Marketing and Business Development for IODA. "Kiptronic's Podcast Marketplace will be seamlessly integrated into our Rightsholder Dashboard and the Promonet promotional network to give our labels direct and immediate access to this unique opportunity from our existing platform."
Kiptronic's patent pending multimedia ad insertion technology allows the podcasting community to add sponsorships to their content at their pace while providing advertisers with a central exchange where they can connect with topical podcasts of interest. The Kiptronic Podcast Marketplace(TM), tailored for use by IODA, provides an open approach to developing promotional campaigns that can be geo-targeted and time-limited to coincide with band appearances.
"The music industry is in constant flux in the digital age. IODA addresses a fundamental problem facing independent record labels and artists -- How to take advantage of new technologies such as podcasting in an open and flexible way that allows them to retain control of their content and raise their profile with potential fans. Using Kiptronic, IODA will enable its clients to deliver targeted promotional messages to specific audiences that will be receptive," said Jonathan Cobb, founder and Chief Executive of Kiptronic.
