'Deezer launches premium music service for PCs, mobiles'
Nov 06, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) --
French music streaming service Deezer has launched Deezer Premium, a
EUR 9.99 per month subscription service offering unlimited access with
no advertising to its entire catalogue of 4.5 million tracks. The
service will debut in France before being rolled out in the rest of
Europe. It allows subscribers to listen to and download their favourite
music and playlists on computers, mobile phones, IP TV channels, IP
music systems, etc. Music is encoded at up to 320 kbps for better sound
quality. Customers use the new Deezer Desktop software to download
tracks to PCs and Macs, with a DRM system preventing users from
listening if they cease their subscription. The mobile phones
compatible with Deezer Premium are the Apple 2G, 3G, 3GS and iPod
Touch, Android-running HTC Dream G1, HTC Magic G2, Samsung Galaxy i7500
and HTC Hero, and Blackberry Srorm 9500/9530, Curve 8520/8900 and Bold
9000. Deezer said it would soon add support for other phones and
devices from Achos and Sonos. Deezer has 11 million registered
customers around the world.
