ComstarUTS commences telecom network in Stupinsky, Moscow


Aug 31, 2010 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- ComstarUnited TeleSystems, or UTS, a provider of integrated telecom solutions, has announced the completion of its telecom network construction and commencement of its performance in the Stupinsky district, Moscow region. Project investments have amounted to RUB50 million over one-year.



The operator has launched broadband and virtual private network services for individuals and enterprises of Stupino and the Stupinsky district based on its own new-generation transport core. Besides, Comstar leases communication channels to a number of large local operators, the company said.

A total length of fiber-optic backbone lines installed during network construction has made 90km. Comstar-UTS has commissioned two communication nodes in Stupino at once: L2 backbone node of the transport network and data transmission and telematic network services node. Communication facilities have been mounted using equipment by Cisco based on the IP and Multiprotocol Label Switching packet switching technology, the company added.


Dmitry Dronov, director of Comstar-UTS Moscow region branch, said: "Thanks to our co-operation with Stupino administration, we have been able to tune up the network in no time and set upon provision of services to dwellers and organizations of the Stupinsky district. We hope that the network will enable further development of Comstar-UTS in the region and solution of many social issues.
