Vivint Solar Announces Simple, Affordable Consumer Solar Energy Solutions

Vivint Solar today announced the availability of simple, affordable consumer solar solutions, supported by a unique service model that provides even more benefits for residential solar energy customers.

Consumers enjoy a variety of benefits with Vivint Solar, including free installation, monitoring and maintenance of solar panels, and the ability to purchase the power generated by the panels for a lower rate than they typically pay their utility. Vivint Solar customers also lock in lower monthly rates for 20 years.

During the summer of 2011, Vivint Solar began marketing its consumer solution in New Jersey, and will immediately begin expanding into other markets in the United States. The expansion is made possible by a commitment of renewable energy tax equity from a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB), which will support the financing of $75 million in residential solar energy systems in the United States. The fund will finance a projected pipeline of 2,400 residential solr installations in New Jersey, Utah, Hawaii and New York.
