Tier 1 Western European Service Provider Deploys Procera Networks' PacketLogic 20000 Platforms
FREMONT, CA, Dec 11, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Procera Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: PKT), the global intelligent policy
enforcement company, today announced it has received a follow-on $1.3
million order from a Tier 1 multi-system operator (MSO) in Western
Europe. This operator serves broadband subscribers across its
countrywide footprint as part of its residential triple play service
offerings. This customer first installed Procera PacketLogic(TM)
10000 platforms in 2008 and with this order, is upgrading to the
PacketLogic 20000 to take advantage of its industry-leading
throughput capacity, massive scalability and high availability
features. Procera expects to recognize the majority of revenue from
this order in the fourth quarter of 2012, and the first quarter of
2013.
"This operator was one of Procera's first service provider customers
and this order re-affirms their commitment to our solutions with the
deployment of our latest technology," said Paul Gracie, Vice
President of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EMEA) at Procera.
"They have seen increasing usage in their broadband Internet services
and decided to make network investments today that will continue to
serve their needs into the future. Their key requirements, with all
their experience factored in, included the need to scale and handle
heavy traffic volumes in robust, high availability configurations to
ensure that they are always gathering network intelligence. In the
highly competitive market service providers are facing now, real-time
detailed network analytics are crucial to optimizing their business
models."
Network operators worldwide face huge growth in broadband traffic
volumes and are looking to add analytics that transform how they
optimize their network infrastructure investments and extend their
business models to add incremental revenue streams. The key to the
realization of these operator goals is to make their networks more
intelligent. This intelligence not only enables operators to monitor
bandwidth usage but also lets them see in real-time the
characteristics of broadband traffic generated by their subscribers,
and then profile that usage in order to create new services that
benefit subscribers.
