Belden Exhibits Next Generation of Broadband Internet Technology at SCTE

ST. LOUIS --(Business Wire)--

Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, will showcase its PPC brand's latest DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) 3.1-ready innovations at the upcoming Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Cable-Tec Expo in Denver from Sept. 23 - 25. PPC is a leading manufacturer and developer of advanced connectivity technologies for the cable and telecommunications industries.

There is a rising trend of consumer demand for data. The rapid increase of on-demand content has the broadband industry expanding to reach higher speeds and support new standards like DOCSIS 3.1. Otherwise known as "Gigasphere," DOCSIS 3.1 is a new international telecommunications standard developed by CableLabs and represents the next generation of broadband internet technology. Companies, like Time Warner Cable, have announced expansion to DOCSIS 3.1 - allowing the support of downstream speeds of up to 10 Gbps.

"Consumer demand for data is rapidly increasing and to meet this demand comes DOCSIS 3.1, and Belden is equipped with several DOCSIS-ready products in its portfolio," said Josh Dixon, VP of product management at PPC. "Our primary goal has always been to respond to the challenges and needs of our customers and bring the latest technologies. Providing products that permit the addition of high-speed data transfer not only responds to customer demands, but drives long-term growth in all of our product categories."

Continuing the commitment to the pursuit of innovation, Belden and PPC will feature several of these DOCSIS-ready products at the Cable-Tec Expo in booth 1064. PPC will also feature a demonstration of their noise mitigation technology (NMT).

A team of technician trainers will also be on hand at the booth to demonstrate installation best practices and give attendees a glimpse into PPC's comprehensive technician training.

The explosion of digital television, on-demand content and mobile devices has the broadcast industry investing in its infrastructure to meet increasing demand. Belden is right there, helping them deliver solutions with its industry-leading cable along with its Miranda Technologies and PPC brands. Belden provides production, distribution, networking infrastructure and connectivity systems for television broadcast, cable, satellite and IPTV (News - Alert) industries. In addition, Belden's PPC brand - the world leader in coaxial connectivity technology - serves the terrestrial broadband, satellite and telecommunications industries.
