Midco Selects Parallel Technologies to Build Colocation Data Center in Fargo


MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Parallel Technologies, an industry-leading reliable data center and intelligent building solutions company, was selected by Internet, networking, cable TV, phone, data center and managed services, home automation and advertising services provider Midco to design/build its new state-of-the-art data center in Fargo, North Dakota. Construction on the 16,000-square-foot dual-path, concurrently maintainable facility will begin in August and is slated to be operational in early 2018.

Built with future expansion in mind, the $12 million data center will host, store and monitor data services for regional and local business customers. The facility will have immediate capacity for 250 cabinets with another 28,000 square foot available for expansion.

Designed and constructed to deliver the exacting reliability requirements for Midco's Data Center customers, the facility is also being built to withstand the weather of the Northern Plains. Additionally, the facility is being built in close proximit to sub-station and power infrastructure and has capacity to provide at least 24 hours of power if there is a catastrophic power outage in the region.

For this project, Parallel Technologies is being tasked with the design and build responsibilities specific to the IT infrastructure and data center requirements. Parallel Technology has also been engaged to provide services in support of upgrade projects at Midco's two other data centers in Sioux Falls, SD, and Yankton, SD.
