Got a VoIP Headache? BroadSoft Has Your Prescription

If you’re a service provider and the thought of rolling out a new VoIP service is making you ill, BroadSoft has a prescription that can make the whole process a lot easier.

The company claims that with its new QuickStart Express program, service providers can significantly reduce the amount of effort and time it takes of price, package, position and deploy new VoIP services.

According to a press release, QuickStart is a comprehensive, yet easy-to-use, go-to-market program that provides tools and services to simplify the process of developing and delivering VoIP. Built on best practices, it defines a planning, sales and deployment model and provides supporting toolkits and collateral.

“QuickStart Express is like a catalyst that starts the process - it gives us the tools we need now to put our VoIP services together, so we can deliver the right set of services to our business customers to meet the market opportunity,” said Kelly Swanson, general manager, voice, for Onvoy, Inc. “The BroadSoft team has real-world experience from carriers around the world that we can apply in our environment so we get to market quickly.”

QuickStart Express, which is free to BroadSoft customers, outlines the deployment process in three phases: planning, customer acquisition and service delivery. The program provides instructions, templates and conceptual models backed by real-world implementation and deployment scenarios.

Highlights of the program include:
 
  • Typical user definitions, such as executive, assistant, mobile worker and teleworker
  • Models illustrating how to map licenses and services to user types
  • Specific phones and configurations for each user profile, based on BroadSoft’s Premier Access Solutions
  • Sample code for integration with back-office systems
  • Easy-to-use templates for a range of activities, such as ordering and provisioning
  • Standard sales presentations for different applications and different audiences
  • Scenarios to use as real-world deployment and implementation examples
  • Process maps illustrating user and functional workflow
 
“Busy service providers are looking for clear guidelines and specific instructions and templates to speed and simplify the roll-out of VoIP services,” said Scott Wharton, vice president of marketing for BroadSoft, in the release. “The QuickStart Express program is the result of our years of experience and proven practices developed by working with our customer base, and it serves as the most comprehensive, yet clear, model for service providers to deploy services rapidly and accelerate revenue.”

In related news, BroadSoft has announced the launch of its Premier Access Solutions Program - a new program through which a syndicate of customer premises equipment (CPE) and access equipment vendors provide pre-integrated access solutions for hosted VoIP applications.

Companies collaborating with BroadSoft on the program include Acme Packet, Cisco Systems, Edgewater Networks, Linksys, Polycom and Siemens Communications. All have agreed to provide equipment which is pre-integrated with the BroadWorks VoIP application platform.

The overall goal of the program is “to simplify and resolve the integration challenges service providers face when deploying new services.”

BroadSoft will be providing information about its Premiere Access Solutions Program and QuickStart Express during GlobalComm (News - Alert) 2006, to be held June 5-7 at McCormick Place, Chicago.
