ConneXon Telecom in Montreal announced on Thursday that it agreed to resell VoIP E9-1-1 service from TeleCommunication Systems (News - Alert) (TCS). TCS' VoIP E9-1-1 service is mobile and it will enable ConneXon to provide emergency call routing to small to medium-sized VoIP providers and enterprises.

The new agreement calls for ConneXon to launch its new service dubbed 911Enable. The ConneXon service will be based on TCS' VoIP E9-1-1 service for call delivery to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) for real-time call routing of emergency VoIP 9-1-1 calls.

“We are excited to partner with TCS, the leader in E9-1-1 location technology, to provide important E9-1-1 services to our customers,” said ConneXon’s president Lev Deich in a statement. “TCS’ proven E9-1-1 platform will bring an enhanced level of confidence to our customers. Enterprises, in particular, will find reduced costs with the innovative TCS and ConneXon solution.”

According to the companies’ news release, “TCS will leverage ConneXon's strengths as an aggregator to build its channel, and once it integrates with ConneXon, TCS can add channel partners without additional cost. This will enable both companies to realize lower aggregated costs for the E9-1-1 services.”

“We believe this reseller agreement marks an excellent way to introduce our E9-1-1 offerings to a much broader audience,” stated Jon Croy, senior director, VoIP Services for TCS, “and it may ultimately improve enterprise VoIP user access to E9-1-1 services.”

Today’s news follows TCS’ announcement last month about it signing a reseller agreement with Level 3 Communications. The agreement called for TCS to bundle Level 3’s E911 network capabilities, which will enable with TCS' VPC, will provide customers with a one-stop shop for all Enhanced 911 services.

“Level 3 offers the broadest coverage for E911 call termination,” said Dan Allen, senior vice president, service bureau operations for TCS, in a statement. “Furthermore, many synergies exist within the Level 3 and TCS customer bases such as cable companies, Voice Service Providers and others, and this agreement will enable us to integrate our services to provide our customers with a best-in-class solution. We are enthused to work with Level 3 on delivering these communications solutions to VoIP Service Providers.”
