Enablence Expands Portfolio of Innovative PLC-Based Optical Components

Enablence Technologies Inc. , a supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment for triple-play residential and business services and optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, has announced two new component products will be released at an upcoming industry event to be held in Turin, Italy.

The new APD offers outstanding performance at an affordable price and is optimized for single-mode 10 Gb/s SONET/SDH as well as 10G PON applications.

In addition, company officials said it features a dual pad layout and an optical aperture of 32 um, as well as a small footprint that saves valuable space in small packages such as TO-46.

Also, Enablence's new 8x8 (News - Alert) iMS 0808 model for its multicast switch family compliments the current 4x8 model and offers a unique and cost-effective solution to make ROADM nodes with directionless, colorless, and contentionless features.

The 0808 features eight input and eight output ports, which is designed for next generation ROADMs with up to eight degrees, expected to be commonly used on 40G and 100G networks.
