Verizon Introduces FiOS TV Service to Westerly, RI

Verizon Communications has announced the availability of its FiOS TV to residents and businesses in and around Westerly, R.I.

Westerly will become the 27th community to receive FiOS (News - Alert) TV services. FiOS TV presents the ultimate home entertainment experience with a wide range of programming choices and superior picture quality. Verizon is offering a new triple-play bundle offer for $99.99 per month, which essentially includes FiOS TV, FiOS Internet and reliable telephone service, as well as a two-year Worry-Free Guarantee which will allow the customers to cancel their service within 30 days of activation with no extra termination fee.

Verizon (News - Alert) FiOS TV gets delivered over the most advanced all-fiber network, all over the U.S., and directly connects millions of individual homes and businesses. It provides more than 520 all-digital channels, which includes 138 HD channels in Westerly.

FiOS also offers video on demand and faster Internet speeds than those offered by the traditional cable TV. The service includes 18,000 monthly video on demand titles, including 3,300 in HD, and next-generation interactive services including an advanced interactive media guide; social networking, news and entertainment widgets; DVR management via broadband or mobile phone, with more than 70 percent of them being offered for free or no additional cost.

FiOS also offers a FiOS TV Home Media DVR, which enables families to view, record, pause and rewind programming on up to three TVs in the home at the same time. The customers will also have access to Media Manager, a free software that lets users access and watch online via their TVs personal videos, photos and music stored on their home computers. The FiOS TV fiber network provides FiOS Internet Service with upstream and downstream speeds up to 35 Mbps and 50 Mbps respectively.
