Industry Veterans Represent Taqua at 4G World and SCTE Cable-Tec Expo

Taqua, a leading next-generation wireline and wireless switching and backhaul solutions supplier, recently announced that veterans of the wireless industry Payam Maveddat and Peter Allen have joined Taqua (News - Alert) in order to expand its next-generation convergence switching and wireless backhaul solutions.

These solutions will on display at both the 4G World and SCTE Cable-Tec Expo conferences, being held this week in Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center, in booths 731 and 120 at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans’ Ernest Memorial Convention Center.

While Maveddat has joined Taqua as the executive vice president of product management, Allen is Taqua’s vice president of wireless business development and operations; they will both be present at the 4G World to showcase Taqua's products and solutions.

Maveddat is responsible for Taqua’s product line management organization for all of Taqua’s convergence switching and RF backhaul products. He is a technologist, pioneer, and veteran of mobile communications industry. His industry accomplishments are numerous and include deployment of the world's first 3GPP distributed mobile switching and hosted CDMA femtocell architecture. Previously, Payam held executive positions at Mavenir, Tekelec, Nortel (News - Alert), and AT&T Bell Labs, essentially in product management, systems engineering and marketing. Maveddat has been granted eight U.S. patents in mobile networking. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, a master’s degree from Georgia Tech, and a master’s degree from the University of Texas.

Allen, with over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, is responsible for Taqua’s wireless backhaul business development and operations. He is a seasoned entrepreneur having been involved in six early stage start-ups, including four as a founder. Allen was the founding CEO of PulseWave RF (News - Alert), a fables semiconductor company developing next generation digital power amplifier modules for the wireless infrastructure market until recently. He has held a variety of executive management, marketing and business development positions.

Allen spent his early career at Nortel Networks, where he held a number of roles including product management, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada); an Honors Bachelor of Commerce from Laurentian University (Sudbury, Ontario, Canada) and a master’s degree from York University’s Schulich School of Business (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), and is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
