Cox Communications to Broadcast Live 3D Sports Telecast of Oregon-California Game

Delivering live 3D sports content to its customers across the country, Cox Communications is partnering with Versus to offer its customers a unique 3D experience of the upcoming Oregon Ducks vs. California Golden Bears football game on Nov. 13. Cox (News - Alert) Customers spread across Orange County, Santa Barbara and Palos Verdes area will be able to enjoy a stunning 3D television which will prove to the next best thing other than being on the sidelines.

In a press release, a Cox Communications spokesperson, said, “3D technology lets the viewer experience the game, rather than just watch it. The 3D experience gives football fans additional insight into the game. Plus, the picture clarity and color are unparalleled.”

Fans watching the game on Cox 3D channel 800 will be able to pause and rewind live 3D broadcast as well as experience those things that are not available to traditional 2D television viewers. Several 3D cameras will be installed at the game site by the network so as to capture various angles, which are not usually seen during 2D broadcasts. Previously, Cox had broadcasted 3D version of sporting events such as PGA Championship and The Masters Tournament to all its customers equipped with a 3D television as well as Cox 3D service for no extra charge.

Cox leverages latest video and 3D technology to bring forward the numerous benefits of the 3D experience to all its customers. Cox customers can avail 3D services with a subscription to Cox Advanced TV, Cox HD plus Cox 3D service, a Cox HD or HD/DVR receiver and the 3D glasses specified by their TV manufacturer.
