Jungo Launches Remote Management System for DSL, Cable and Fiber Services

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

As a leading provider of unified software solutions for residential gateways, Jungo unveiled its next generation of remote management system, Panaroma, for DSL, cable and fiber service providers. By leveraging Jungo’s (News - Alert) advanced solution, home Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) as well as broadband and video services can be managed efficiently by offering full connectivity as well as increased network visibility.

Using the innovative solution, service providers can manage and provide support both at the service levels and also at the single device level. This not only helps reduce cost but also improves subscriber’s quality of experience. Integrated with NDS (News - Alert) STB software, Panorama has been selected to manage gateways and STBs.

Using intelligent business logic and methodologies, Panorama leverages Jungo’s deep technical expertise to reduce support calls, call duration and truck rolls. With tight integration with CPE side software, Panorama extends the standard TR-069 parameters allowing improved identification of a wide range of performance, security and connectivity issues.

Having a multi-layered view methodology, Panorama delivers end-to-end problem-solving tools that provide better and faster fault discovery, analysis and resolution. Panorama’s full network map-view features provides comprehensive picture of both retail and managed devices. Consequently, service providers can zoom-in on a single device for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes.

To quickly pin-point the root cause of a failure, support representatives can take advantage of cross-device analysis. Moreover, customer support can also leverage Service View to monitor and control services, e.g. telephony, DVR and Internet.

In a release, Eran Rom (News - Alert), Jungo's CEO said, “With Panorama we are setting a new standard for support and management in the home, raising expectations to a whole new level. Service Providers today are, at best, capable of managing specific CPE without clear visibility into the full connected home environment. Panorama changes this by offering a truly comprehensive experience where everything in the home is linked and managed centrally.”

Serving beyond the residential gateway, Panorama offers out-of-the-box connectivity with other devices such as set-top box, including cameras, mobile phones and tablets.
