Cablemas Expands Digital Service Offering with Conax and Evolution Digital

Cablemás, one of the largest cable television operators in Mexico, announced that it is expanding its digital service offering with Conax security platform and Evolution hybrid IP set-tops and DVRs. The company’s offering now includes next generation IP video services as well.

Cablemás is stated to have penned an agreement with Conax and Evolution Digital for Conax content security platform and Evolution set-top devices with Conax embedded security in 2010 to satisfy its objective to redefine the standard for digital TV in the Mexican market for pay-tv.

Evolution Digital said that its product set offers both large and small cable operators various cost effective solutions to enable them to better compete with high-definition (HD) rich video, high-speed data (HSD) and voice competitors.

Conax claimed that it provides high-quality total security solutions, enabling one to increase revenue and reduce churn. Its open and non-proprietary content security solutions are ideal for all types of networks and business models such as Video On Demand, Pay Per View, or any hybrid combination.

Headquartered in Mexico City, Cablemás has continued to grow its subscriber base through its bouquet of value-added triple play services. The company asserted that the strong cooperation with Conax and Evolution Digital has provided Cablemás with simple and elegant solutions to drive our digitization process. The expertise and strong product line fuelled with a great partnership have further strengthened Cablemás’ confidence in its partners and the development of the Cablemás cable operation.
