The security system is powered by iControl. The system sets the standards for safeguarding family and possessions. It has the capability to turn the residence into a smart home that can control lighting, appliances and energy.

Comporium offers the product as part of its Security Dealer Program, which now comprises more than 50 cable TV, telecommunications and electric utility clients, representing one million customers.

“Consumer demand for advanced security and remote home management is growing. iControl’s OpenHome platform provides features beyond traditional home security and, through the extensive reach of Comporium’s Security Dealer program, will enable the demands of consumers to be met,” said Jim Johnson, co-CEO of iControl Networks (News - Alert), in a statement.

“Downloadable applications for controlling security, video monitoring, lighting, and thermostat; as well as, for finding other web-based information and entertainment content will be offered on the touch screen,” Lehman added.

Recently, Comporium announced that it selected Red Condor's anti-spam technology to protect its more than 95,000 residential and business customers from e-mail threats.
