MDS Unveils Intelligent BSS Solution to Cable Operators

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

MDS, a provider of enterprise customer experience management solutions for Communication Service Providers (CSPs), is now offering its “Intelligent BSS” solutions to cable operators.

Intelligent BSS from MDS provides cable service providers with an integrated solution model that supports them in the drive for rapid growth in the business market, in particular the introduction of convergent services, such as FMC and Quad Play with minimum risk.

The service focuses on two distinct service delivery enablement areas – new generation analytics capability across business processes and BSS agility across the customer experience lifecycle, company officials said.

“It is clear that, when compared to mobile operators, cable companies have weathered the recent financial storm well and are looking to increase their presence and market share by unlocking the potential of growth in the business segment,” said Drew Rockwell, CEO of MDS, in a statement.

Rockwell added that MDS Intelligent BSS is designed to enable convergence and help drive next generation growth across key market segments and focus areas.

Delivered as a MDS “BSS as a Service” model, the solution combines sophisticated business process analytics and dynamic process orchestration to simplify data, process and system interchange. It also supports longer-term strategic objectives, especially the need for easy transition to Next Generation IT and business models.

The Intelligent BSS solution combines MDS BillAnalyzer, which provides e-billing and analytics capability; MDA (News - Alert) Lavastorm, which provides analytic capabilities across all business processes in a single workflow; and MDS Customer Management Platform (CMP), which provides rapidly deployable integrated provisioning, rating, billing and CRM capability to support the order to cash management process.

The integrated and managed BSS as a Service platform can reduce the cost and complexity of delivering convergent services and provide a seamless experience for the end user, the company said. It results in improved time-to-value, cost-efficiency and customer experience.

The service also offers a clear line of sight to longer-term strategic objectives, in particular the need for “light-touch” transition to Next Generation IT and business models.

Recently TMCnet reported that direct selling telecommunications company ACN has selected MDS to support its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services across 16 countries in Europe.
