Sigma Systems Enhances WOW! ULTRA TV Service

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Sigma Systems recently announced its Device Provisioning Manager (DPM) has successfully deployed in the new WOW! ULTRA TV service. Through Sigma's DPM solution, WOW! can now easily handle customer entitlements over a wide range of device types, used in delivering services through the ARRIS Moxi Gateway (News - Alert) to multiple connected devices within the home network.

The DPM solution offers centralized IP management, so service providers will find it much easier to develop new device configuration templates to boost the delivery of new services. The system also comes with a centralized system status and device health monitoring tool, helping keep track of access device performance.

"At WOW! we understand that our customers' needs are always changing, so it is imperative that we select the technology solutions and partners that give us the flexibility we need to quickly and cost-effectively introduce new services,” said Cash Hagen, Chief Technology Officer at WOW! “Sigma Systems (News - Alert) has been a long term technology partner to WOW!, so we were confident that its DPM solution would perform as promised, and that the team would provide the 100% delivery assurance we needed to be successful."

The Customer Enablement team at Sigma collaborated with WOW! and its technology partners over the seamless deployment of the Device Provisioning Manager solution. The Sigma Product team worked closely with WOW! and ARRIS over developing and adding specific functions capable of supporting the provisioning and management of customer entitlements over the gateways.

“With the launch of ULTRA TV, they are taking their multimedia offering to new levels, and demonstrating how service providers can leverage the delivery of OTT content to give customers what they want and maintain their loyalty,” said Tim Spencer, President and COO at Sigma Systems.

Sigma's DPM is a cost-effective solution, customized for all types of subscribers. For smaller subscriber bases, the solution can be used in a standalone capacity on a single server along with a redundant server to support failover.

The DPM solution from Sigma configures upgrades and provision processes, based on the subscribers' identity and entitlements covering the different video platforms and devices, connected with the customer premise equipment (CPE).
