Sarris Candies Enhances Customer Experience with Comcast Business Class Ethernet Services

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

The Comcast (News - Alert) Business Class Ethernet services are designed to offer seamless connectivity for organizations with many locations and high data traffic, and are helping Sarris Candies, a Canonsburg, Pa.-based specialty chocolate and candies company maintain connectivity despite the confectionary affected by fire.

In February, a fire broke out at the Sarris Candies candy store’s main headquarters destroying 50,000 pounds of chocolate. The Comcast Business Ethernet’s reliable high-capacity service was able to keep the chocolate company’s connectivity intact and at the same time expedite the transfer of company data and improve its overall customer experience.

The company supports more than 350 daily works and more than 830 stores are dependent on it. Sarris Candies demanded constant connectivity for carrying out its credit card transactions, online ordering, customer information, fulfillment processing, shipping and email communications. The candy company even installed up to three T1 lines to carry out its business, but was still able to increase its service capacity.

It was also not ready to experiment with other procedures available to enhance its current services.

Then Sarris Candies acquired two Ethernet Dedicated Internet lines to connect both the storefront and the warehouse to the Web, which proved to be beneficial especially after the February fire that caused large amounts of both smoke and water damage to the Sarris Candies storefront.

Though the company was fixing its doors and windows damaged by the fire, it kept its delivery trucks running as the company was still able to process its orders with the help of Comcast Ethernet services.

“It’s nearly impossible to predict when a disaster situation will occur, but companies like Sarris Candies are finding that having the right technology in place ahead of time can greatly impact their response time in getting back up to speed once the dust clears,” said Glenn Lytle, regional VP for Comcast Business Services. “The reliability of our Ethernet services can help businesses bounce back from an unexpected circumstance by providing a way to access their critical company data from a backup location if needed – and for Sarris Candies, that backup location was essential to keeping things running smoothly.”
