Centina's NetOmnia Cable Assurance Solution Allows Monitoring Of Customer Broadband Service

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Centina Systems recently announced that its NetOmnia Cable Assurance solution is now available for communication service providers. The latest offering from Centina has been designed to deliver complete visualization of customer broadband service performance all in real-time. Centina Systems provides communications service providers (CSPs) from across the globe with a robust set of service assurance and service quality management solutions.

Cable MSOs leveraging the new NetOmnia Cable Assurance solution will now be able to provide robust and proactive service assurance and monitoring for all cable modems and eMTAs. The solution thus supports enhanced levels of visibility into customer premise equipment and performance. Since the NetOmnia solution integrates with the customer subscriber data, MSOs can easily visualize and provide an extensive view of individual equipment health, in addition to monitoring and tracking congestion and other issues before they can impact end-user experience in real-time.

“Most Cable MSOs have had to build home-grown solutions for assurance, increasing their OpEX and putting a strain on resources. With Cable Assurance, providers have an off-the-shelf package that can meet their need by improving customer experience and network performance while at the same time reducing OpEx and ongoing administration,” Co-Founder, and CEO Anand Gonuguntla, Centina Systems, stated in a press release.

Benefits provided by Centina Systems’ NetOmnia Cable Assurance solutions include the ability to deliver real-time performance data gathered from cable broadband infrastructure and performance thresholds and KPIs, which can be configured to identify and characterize relative performance of neighborhoods and markets to keep track of potential customer impact issues. In addition, it offers effective integration of the solution with subscriber data, which allows for a more detailed view of customer and service package data and also provides comprehensive device health and metrics and delivery of real-time map views of broadband equipment, such as CMTSs and Cable Modems, which enable faster visualization and identification of cable plant issues before they can affect service.
