Coincident's ScreenSync TV Integrates with Audible Magic ACR Solutions

By Mandira Srivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Coincident has partnered with Audible Magic (News - Alert), a pioneer in automated content recognition (ACR) technology and solutions, to integrate Audible Magic’s SmartID and SmartSync ACR solutions with Coincident’s ScreenSync TV.

Coincident powers video Web with technology that allows content creators and distributors to easily design, manage and measure interactive video experiences across all digital platforms and on devices including TVs, tablets, phones, consoles and set-top boxes.

Audible Magic’s digital fingerprint ACR technology identifies and synchronizes television content and advertising, including live TV programming to generate a new control mechanism for deploying ScreenSync TV via broadcast or over-the-top services.

With the integrated solutions, Coincident’s customers – MSOs, television networks, production companies and advertisers – can now use ScreenSync TV to offer highly interactive and coordinated two-screen viewing experiences.

“We are pleased to add Audible Magic's automatic content recognition technology to the Coincident platform as the addition brings best-of-breed ACR to Coincident's best-of-breed two-screen control-plane synchronization and authoring,” said John Gilles, SVP of Sales and Marketing at Coincident. “Together they make for an unparalleled companion app experience for TV subscribers.”

According to the press release, in an informal polling conducted at CableLabs (News - Alert) Winter Conference in March, Coincident’s ScreenSync TV technology was selected as the “Best New Idea Most Likely to Succeed” in the cable market. Additionally, ScreenSync TV was selected as the best of the two-screen class at CES (News - Alert).

“Coincident stole the show here; they showed the best, most developed, and most proven second-screen solution, featuring launched TV experiences (‘Glee Superfan’) with synchronized interactivity and easy authoring of rich experiences using templates,” said ABI Research analyst Sam Rosen.

During The Cable Show, Coincident will demonstrate its two-screen connectivity in the Cisco (News - Alert) booth with a basketball viewing companion app built around the NBA all-star game.

“Coincident has established a very strong credibility among cable operators,” said Jay Friedman, VP of Marketing and Client Services at Audible Magic. “We’re excited to work with them to expand ScreenSync to new markets and uses.”
