By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

Motama, which provides solutions for delivery, processing and presentation of audio and video content in IP networks, will showcase its products at the ANGA Cable Show, Europe’s top business platform for broadband operators and content providers for more than ten years.

A complete portfolio of IPTV (News - Alert) products for distributing live content and protocols for content distribution is expected to be on display this year in Cologne, Germany, June 12-14. The collection is expected to include streaming servers, encoders/transcoders, DVB gateways used for building a streamlined and cost-effective end-to-end solution.

TVCaster by Motama is an example of a next-generation IPTV server appliance that offers cutting-edge functionality and supports live TV broadcasts, customized IPTV workflows and personal TV access.

Another interesting IPTV server on display will be the TimeshiftCaster, which does exactly what its name suggests; it compensates for time zone differences and allows users reschedule live feeds.

The CodecCaster, which offers a real-time transcoding solution for IPTV, streams in optional formats, helps reduce bandwidth requirements without compromising on video quality. It also allows users to create customized streams delivered over set top boxes, mobile devices or even the PC.

Streaming live content traveling, along long-distance links, can be optimized for transmission using the Motama RelayCaster server appliance. It overcomes the limitations of today's wireless networks in regard to multicast networking.

Also visible will be the Video Wall, driven by Motama's key technology, Network Integrated Multimedia Middleware. This provides a solution for networked multimedia systems that span a broad spectrum of devices.

Founded in 2005, Motama is a spin-off company from the Computer Graphics Lab at Saarland University, Germany. As its products are compatible with existing systems, Motama products seamlessly integrate with existing infrastructure.
