Com Hem Signs Deal with TiVo to Create Sweden's Smartest TV Service

Com Hem (News - Alert), a supplier of pay-television in Sweden, has entered a distribution agreement with TiVo, Inc. allowing Swedish consumers to enjoy a unique pay TV experience.

The offering will allow TV viewers to access traditional television content, large video on demand (VOD) libraries, over the top (OTT) content and applications (apps) through a fully integrated viewing experience.

Through TiVo's (News - Alert) tablet, smartphone and browser-based experiences, Com Hem and TiVo duo will also enable a wide range of content choices not available with the traditional set top box.

TiVo has invested more than half a billion dollars to create the ultimate consumer television viewing experience and established the gold-standard for both user-friendliness and powerful functionality.

"We found that TiVo, by way of its best-in-class user experience, its leading consumer feature set and rapid time to market was the most compelling answer,” said Tomas Franzen, CEO at Com Hem. “TiVo will be a significant part of our future plans which will redefine our subscriber proposition with features like TV Everywhere, remote recording, universal search, smart recommendations, and access to a wide range of third-party interactive applications."

Com Hem powered by TiVo will set the standard for smarter television viewing With TiVo. Key features include a one-stop shop, allowing consumers to effortlessly to navigate all digital entertainment content; universal search, allowing subscribers to search across all content including linear TV, VOD, PPV and OTT/play services; and TiVo Everywhere, granting subscribers access to their content via tablets and smartphones.
