By Tabitha Naylor, Contributing Writer

New agreements for the Food Network, Fine Living Network, Food Network Asia and Travel Channel International have been announced by Scripps Networks International. Broadband system partnerships in seven countries along with channel launches with distributors in seven new countries and expansions through new cable are part of the multiple deals.

In Latvia, Georgia, Romania and Serbia, the Food Network has made a breaking new ground debut. The lifestyle channel can now be found on Latvia cable provider, IZZI, in Georgia on cable provider Super TV, in Romania on Intersat, and in Serbia on Targo Telekom.

Through an expansion agreement with PrimeTel, a managed IPTV (News - Alert) service in Cyprus, the Food Network has strengthened its presence in the country. In June 2011, the operator launched the Food Network in HD and to its basic tier offering it has now added an SD version.

“With our ambitious international objectives, we have been very pleased with the steady growth of our channel brands. We look forward to continuing our distribution momentum as we expand to new markets,” said Jim Samples, President of Scripps Networks Interactive’s International Division.

For the first time in the Russian Federation, Fine Living Network launched through Arkhangelsk Television Company (ATK (News - Alert)). Additionally, through a new carriage agreement with Divan.TV, in the Czech Republic with IPTV provider SELF servis, in Romania through Pan Electro and in Georgia with Super TV, the channel has gained increased distribution in the Ukraine.

Jon Sichel, Managing Director of Scripps Networks Interactive EMEA added that the growing demand for our unique lifestyle brands and renowned programming from audiences and content distributors alike fuel these new carriage deals.

He concluded by stating that to continue the international success over the coming year, they are committed to offering audiences worldwide with the highest caliber of lifestyle entertainment available through the Food Network and Fine Living channels and are thrilled to begin working with new distribution partners.
