African Viewers Receive Contemporary Entertainment

By Tabitha Naylor, Contributing Writer

Today, ECS European Communication Services and OH TV announced that they have expanded their cooperation throughout all of Africa by launching the OHTV channel. In every region of the continent, the channel can now be viewed by viewers who can downlink the channel with small antennas from 1.8 meters.

For distribution to the entire continent, ECS' Turnkey solution for OH TV includes collecting the signal at a London PoP (Point of Presence), sending the signal by fiber to the Uplink Station, and up-linking the signal to the AMOS (News - Alert)-5 Pan African C-band

"We are proud to extend our agreements with OHTV and enlarge their viewing audience to every corner of Africa. ECS offers cost effective solution for broadcasters from the UK and Europe seeking distribution for their content over Africa," commented ECS CEO Eran Avni.

Akin Salami, CEO of OHTV added that working quickly and closely with ECS, all the aspects connected to this operation have so far been smooth and thus OHTV is now part of an exciting and colorful channel neighborhood. Extending work with ECS is furthering OHTV's presence and vision for the entire continent and bringing the best in culture and entertainment to Africa is one of its key strategies.

To offer the African broadcast market solutions, this deal follows an earlier one between the two companies in which they joined forces to provide unprecedented broadcast and IPTV (News - Alert) access to the African continent and around the world. Across Africa, the two for one service provides both a turn-key satellite broadcast service and an IPTV service via OH BoX's IPTV Platform for the UK, European and international markets.
