Teleplan Opens Dallas Set-Top Box (STB) Service Hub

Teleplan has opened its Dallas Set-Top Box (News - Alert) (STB) service hub. With this, the company now provides a "Telemade" Repair Avoidance solution with rapid turnaround times.

With the help of the company’s partnership with S3 Group (News - Alert), the hub deploys StormTest Decision Line technology to provide automated STB testing and screening solutions. StormTest Decision Line is an automated test solution for screening digital TV devices.

StormTest Decision Line can provide 16 times the volume of testing with half as many operators, along with a dependable and repeatable method of deciding consumer device quality.

The testing equipment enables Teleplan to advanced Repair Avoidance solutions with affordable and high-volume throughput device screening. Teleplan also looks after the complicated forward and reverse logistics and repair of STBs as part of the solution.

Set Top Box Tester StormTest Decision Line is a 16-port tester. Facilitating the best possible slot-usage efficiency, high-quality cables are combined for clean organization and investigation, providing an asynchronous load, test and unload capability.

“The expansion of our services through our new hub in Dallas further emphasizes our commitment to fully providing an end-to-end service solution for the US STB market," said Patrick Ring, chief sales & marketing officer at Teleplan. Recently, the company partnered with Nexlink Communications to become the newest founding members of the Device Renewal Forum (DRF). This forum is said to create a worldwide, industry-standard framework for refurbished mobile devices.

The DRF's aim is to offer the best practices, auditing safeguards and certification marks, needed to develop the market for renewed devices.
