Samsung ATIV Odyssey to be Available at Verizon Wireless Stores, Online

Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) has announced that the Samsung ATIV Odyssey will be available in the coming weeks at Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless Communications Stores and online.

Samsung ATIV Odyssey is the first U.S. smartphone to run Windows 8. This enterprise-ready, four-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display – 800x480 – comes with enhanced security features, offering customers a “powerful” business tool. Company officials said the sensitive company data of users is secure because of security solutions such as advanced Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange ActiveSync features, as well as policy control and on-device AES 256-bit encryption.

Moreover, this latest offering from Samsung features a brilliant 4, which allows users to watch movies, view picture as well as play games and that too in high resolution. Since the smartphone is Global Ready, users have the advantage of calling and e-mailing their friends, colleagues and family friends from over 220 countries worldwide. 

Equipped with a 1.5-GHz dual-core processor, the ATIV Odyssey makes it easy for users to access the Internet, stream music and download content at high speeds using the Verizon Wireless (News - Alert) 4G LTE network.

According to company officials, Samsung’s smartphone also comes with Samsung sharing applications, including Photo Editor, Mini Diary and Now, an application that provides weather, news, stock and currency updates in real time.

Photo Editor edits photos and adjusts colors, while allowing users to add effects such as Pop Art, grayscale, fixed red eye and add decorations that include frames, stickers and more – and share via Facebook (News - Alert), Picasa and Photobucket.

Mini Diary contains daily activities, photos and drawings. Through this feature, users can share their diary via social channels including Facebook, e-mail, Picasa and Photobucket. Plus, they can back up and store information in the free cloud service, SkyDrive.

Dallas-based Samsung Telecommunications America is a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. The company researches, develops and markets wireless handsets, wireless infrastructure and other telecommunications products throughout North America.

The company recently announced that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE (News - Alert) Mobile Broadband network in the coming weeks.
