Verimatrix to Demonstrate VCAS and ViewRight Solutions

By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor

Verimatrix (News - Alert), a solution provider which helps in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, recently announced the demonstration of its Video Content Authority System (VCAS) and ViewRight solutions at CableLabs' (News - Alert) Winter Conference, March 10-13, 2013 in Orlando.

The Verimatrix Video Content Authority System provides the tools and support digital TV operators require to address the new opportunities arising from the accelerating convergence of video delivery over various types of networks – managed or unmanaged – to a multitude of devices. This convergence must encompass a proactive revenue protection and enhancement approach that enables service operators to cast a much wider net with their service offerings.

As a result, the central value proposition for the pay-TV enterprise shifts beyond that of traditional, single network content protection alone, and toward the broader perspective of multi-network revenue security.

"Multi-screen video distribution has taken the cable industry by storm and is increasingly becoming a critical part of the cable business. Customers now expect to have traditional TV programming available on multiple devices such as smartphones, tablets and computers. As content becomes available on an expanded number of devices, the necessity to protect this content becomes ever more crucial," said Petr Peterka, chief technology officer, Verimatrix. "We look forward to demonstrating our VCAS solutions at CableLabs' Winter Conference and sharing our vision for the future of the pay-TV industry with leading worldwide cable operators."

VCAS is the realization of the Verimatrix three-dimensional digital-TV security strategy, which extends beyond the legacy conditional access (CA (News - Alert)) approach in order to protect pay-TV services delivered to any screen over any network while combating any threat.

VCAS enables a number of network-specific solutions built on a common platform with modular extensions per market segment.
