Mediacom Selects TiVo

Looking to provide customized and multi-screen suite of products to its customers, Mediacom Communications Corporation, the 8th largest cable operator in the US, has started rolling out its TiVo (News - Alert) offering. The agreement was signed nine months ago, which stated that TiVo would provide its suite of products to Mediacom's subscribers.

Mediacom has customers in various markets of the world and they can now have access both IP and traditional VOD and linear content. All these will be brought to the customers with the help of TiVo's award-winning user experience on any screen in the home.

To achieve its new business objectives, Mediacom will make use of TiVo Premiere Q 4-tuner gateway DVR, TiVo Mini IP set-top box client and companion applications for iOS and Android (News - Alert) devices.

TiVo Premiere is a cable box, a movie box, a web box, and a music box, all rolled into one. Premiere helps users to enjoy have access to numerous broadband entertainment.

Thomas Elam, VP of TiVo's Service Provider Business, said, "Mediacom is a fantastic partner. They are very customer focused and have a vision for advanced services that was a challenge for their traditional vendors. Our partnership with Mediacom leverages the best of both companies. We are delighted by the speed at which our teams were able to make our advanced multi-screen, multi-source advanced television offering a reality for Mediacom subscribers."

Recently, the company announced that its mobile app and second screen companion experience was released for cable operators 'powered by TiVo.' This new offering allows cable subscribers to have an easy-to-use interface to provide various services to the customers.
