Fashion TV Selects SatLink Communications

Fashion TV (FTV), a global channel, has selected SatLink Communications to playout, uplink and stream its HD channel onto AsiaSat 5.

As part of the pact, SatLink, a major player in international content delivery, will be providing FTV with full HD playout services and digital archiving from its center in Tel Aviv, Israel, and uplinking to AsiaSat-5 satellite located at 100.5 East to broadcast to Asia-Pacific mass markets including India, China and Indonesia.

“Expanding our distribution reach into the Asian region means that we needed to work with a partner and satellite provider that we trust implicitly to deliver a seamless and reliable service to our audience in Asia,” said Michel Adam, president and founder of FTV, in a statement.

“SatLink’s expertise and experience in playout and satellite distribution services for international broadcasters, such as Fashion TV, means that we know we are getting a high level of service,” said Adam.

“More significantly, we needed a partner that could provide the localization of our content, be our satellite gateway to Asia and help us reach our viewers also via the Internet over YouTube (News - Alert). These innovative and comprehensive services have been instrumental for us in selecting SatLink as our partner as we look to deliver rich media content across the Asia-Pacific,” he said.

FTV is one of the biggest fashion mediums in the world. As the only global 24/7 TV station focused exclusively on fashion, beauty, trends and style, FTV broadcasts the latest news and information to over 440 million households and seven million public places worldwide.

David Hochner, CEO of SatLink Communications, said that the company is providing that crucial bridge between the East and West and enabling broadcasters, such as Fashion TV, the ability to penetrate this rapidly growing market from the strategic location, bordering three continents.

“Using our global end-to-end broadcasting services, we will continue to provide this gateway both in and out of Asia on the region’s premium satellite platform,” he said.

Earlier in February, the Apostolic Oneness Network (AON), a global Christian TV network, selected SatLink to distribute its channel internationally.

AON chose SatLink due to the outstanding market penetration achieved by SatLink’s global satellite platforms in every region.  The new arrangement will extend AON’s audience reach in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas over SatLink’s international satellite network.
