SeaChange Shows Off Hybrid TV, Multiscreen Back-Office

By Tara Seals, TMCnet Contributor

SeaChange International (News - Alert) will show off its multiscreen software for small- and mid-sized cable TV providers, along with the ability to launch blended entertainment service incorporating over-the-top (OTT) content with a series of demonstrations this week in San Diego.

SeaChange will make its Nitro back-office software the centerpiece of its presence at the Independent Show (running through July 31), which is attended by independent cable service providers including members of The National Cable Television Cooperative and the American Cable Association.

The company will show cloud-based multiscreen television streaming to tablets and PCs, and on-demand services delivered through an OTT player and app. The vendor will also demo how the open Adrenalin multiscreen video platform supports the subscriber experience. Both support streaming video experiences and promotional content packages to set-tops, tablets, smartphones and other IP-connected devices.

"SeaChange enhances cable service providers' position of strength by reaching every screen with compelling and fully monetized subscriber experiences at home and on the go," said Alan Hoff, SeaChange's vice president of strategic marketing. "Small and mid-sized service providers have relied upon our right-sized video solutions for two decades. Our new generation of cloud-based software empowers these customers to go further and compete for subscribers on every platform and to capitalize on consumer interest in OTT content."
