Comcast Opens New XFINITY Service Center in Houston

By Frank Griffin, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Today's television viewer can use the device as an interactive tool for accessing real-time information, purchasing products and services, playing games and communicating with friends and family around the world. Comcast (News - Alert) Cable, the largest video, high-speed Internet and phone provider to residential customers under the XFINITY brand, has opened a new service center in Houston, Texas, in a 6,500-square-foot facility for XFINITY product and services.

The XFINITY platform is part of the company's TV everywhere experience, which allows the consumer to view content on every platform. The new center is the largest in the country for the company, and it is designed to offer customers a hands-on experience of this technology and many of the services available with XFINITY.

Kiosks in the center let consumers experience XFINITY TV, the new platform X1, XFINITY Internet’s speeds and voice services, as well as the next generation XFINITY Home.

Besides experiencing many of the services available from Comcast, customers can use the self-service kiosks to make payments at the center. Customers waiting to speak to a representative can use a queue system that allows them to explore many of these options instead of waiting in line for service.

"We’re proud to provide our customers with a place where they can experience our XFINITY products and services firsthand and check out the latest technology in an interactive environment. This new model has a more welcoming design, and most important a new attitude as we apply the same mindset of innovation, speed and utility that our customers love about our products to our customer service," said Ralph Martinez, senior vice president of Comcast’s Houston Region.

The XFINITY TV gives the viewer free on-demand choices that can be watched instantly in high definition TVs or streamed on computers, tablets, and smartphones.

The Internet service delivers the fastest speeds in the country along with the Constant Guard Protection Suite, which protects users when they are shopping or accessing financial services and personal information.
