Comcast and Synnex Select ServIT as Reseller

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Managed service provider ServIT will sell Comcast (News - Alert) services following its partnership with Synnex.

Before forming alliance with Synnex, Comcast was following a direct-to-customer interaction model but now it has decided to expand its sales force exponentially across the United States.

Both companies decided upon ServIT as it provides high quality of service and also reach into territories Comcast serves. With ServIT has partner that not only provides very high customer service but also has a proven track record of success for its clients.

“I can't see anything but an upside to this,” executive vice president of ServIT Allen Brooks said. “It's exciting not just for the revenue opportunity but also because we now have a relationship with them.”

For this project, ServIT will include all of Comcast’s Business connectivity services into its sales portfolio.

ServIT has already hit the mark of 400 percent growth in service sales and now offers to its customers, connectivity solutions backed by Comcast. However, these solutions will be managed by ServIT project managers for the customers.

This entire deal is very beneficial to the customers as they no longer have to deal directly with the provider. Instead, ServIT and other future VARs will sell Comcast services to the buyers.

Comcast had to change its sales model as it is challenged by a saturated market and it is finding growth to be slow in its familiar territories. It is now targeting small and medium sized businesses and will leverage ServIT’s partnership to this end.

As ServIT can reach into the small business market, Comcast intends to make money by expanding into new territories.

Comcast was in news last week when AnyMeeting, a fast-emerging enterprise in small business web conferencing industry joined its Upware marketplace.

Upware can be purchased and accessed on-demand through Comcast's integrated Web portal.
