Time Warner Rolls Out Showtime Anytime For Internet-enabled Devices

Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable announced the roll-out of Showtime Anytime, an authentication service from Showtime Networks, which will allow subscribers to access the live feeds of Showtime on any internet-enable device. The customers of both Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks have to subscribe to Showtime to get free and unlimited access to the East Coast and West Coast broadcast feeds of Showtime across the US on any device supported by Android (News - Alert), IOS, Kindle Fire and iPhone software.

In a release, Mike Angus, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Video for Time Warner Cable, said “We're excited to be able to add Showtime Anytime to our growing TV Everywhere offering. Our customers now have easy access to their favorite Showtime programs anytime, anywhere.”

The new roll-out will enable subscribers to watch the current as well as previous seasons of Showtime original TV series that include Dexter, Homeland, Ray Donovan, Masters Of Sex, House Of Lies, Californication, Episodes, Web Therapy and Nurse Jackie. The package will also allow access to other box office hits, documentaries, sports and special series anywhere in the US at any time of the day. The Showtime Anytime app is available for download via the iTunes App Store, the Amazon Appstore and Google (News - Alert) Play Store.

Speaking of the launch, Tom Christie, President, Distribution, Business Development, and Network Operations for Showtime Networks, said “We are very pleased to have Time Warner Cable come onboard as a Showtime Anytime partner. This is a significant milestone in our efforts to make Showtime Anytime available to 100 percent of the multi-channel video universe.”

Time Warner Cable is engaged in providing video, voice and high-speed data services with a customer base of more than 15 million subscribers. The company also offers enterprise-class voice, video and data services to businesses and cell tower backhaul services to wireless carriers. The other service offerings from Time Warner Cable include managed applications, services and cloud-enabled hosting.

Showtime Networks is a fully-owned subsidiary of CBS Corporation and is engaged in the operations of classic television networks in the US. The networks owned and operated by Showtime Networks include Showtime, Flix and The Movie Channel in addition to a host of other multiplex channels.
