ViXS Systems Inc recently announced that its range of XCodePro products will deliver a new standard for density and quality, and low power for applications in broadcast infrastructure. The XCodePro products have been designed specifically to support both cloud-based and traditional broadcast distributors of premium content; they will also offer support for the processing of MPEG2, Advanced Video Coding (AVC), and High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) of up to 4K resolution. Production availability of the XCodePro 350 HEVC transcoder is expected within Q1 of 2014. ViXS is also planning additional XCodePro product launches all through 2014 which will enable it to develop and deliver a complete range of HEVC encoding and professional decoding offerings.

In a release, Ian Lerner, President, Pico Digital, said, “Our multiyear relationship with ViXS and their infrastructure products has enabled us to secure a number of key design wins. Their unique flexibility has enabled us to build both transcoder and decoder products. We look forward to introducing HEVC in upcoming products.”

The past year saw the development, growth, and delivery of cloud-based video and network DVR services. Furthermore, a number of leading content providers announced availability of Ultra HD 4K content for 2014. We have worked closely with our partners to ensure that products with the right features and economics are available to help the industry successfully navigate through this challenging period.”

ViXS is using its robust network of customer relationships to consolidate its leadership position within the market and is also working towards the delivery of a comprehensive range of XCodePro products. At present the company's XCodePro products are deployed by a number of top tier operator networks such as ABC News, CNN, NBC/Universal, ESPN, FOX, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, ASTRA/SES (News - Alert), and Dish Network.
