Telco Systems (News - Alert), a BATM company and a provider of CE 2.0 multi-service Carrier Ethernet and MPLS edge access solutions, recently announced that its Carrier Ethernet and 10G Ethernet solutions have been selected by SWT trilan GmbH, a municipal utility company in Trier, Germany. These solutions will be used with the EdgeGenie service management system, to expand the network and allow them to offer made-to-measure network services.
Telco Systems provides end-to-end solutions for differentiated, assured multi-service delivery over Carrier Ethernet or MPLS, including the T-Marc series of Ethernet demarcation devices, T-Metro series of Ethernet aggregation platforms and the EdgeGenie service management platform that provides real-time performance, monitoring and management across the entire service lifecycle. The officials from Telco said that the company has provided SWT trilan GmbH a local and autonomous solution for global services that integrates simple operation, bandwidth flexibility and modern reliable technology.
"It was essential for us, as network providers, to have a network that allows for automated service provisioning", says Lothar Maximini, Director of Network Services at SWT trilan GmbH. "By using flexible bandwidths, we can offer our customers with made-to-measure services at affordable prices."
"The trend of providing network services by local supply companies, as either an alternative to or adjacent to traditional providers, is becoming more apparent worldwide", says Francois Tournesac, VP of Sales and Business Development for Telco Systems. "We support this development through a large range of network appliances, which enable setting up infrastructures according to the required capacity locally, without compromising performance, functionality or future security. With the deployment of Carrier Ethernet 2.0, SDN and Telco Systems' EdgeGenie management system, the municipal utility in Trier is on the safe side and well prepared for all future developments."In related news, Telco Systems unveiled the T-Marc WD, a weatherproof service demarcation family of enclosures. The T-Marc WD Ethernet/MPLS network interface device (NID) demonstrates continued progress for Telco Systems's end-to-end solutions, from the access to the core, while offering a wider solution set for outdoor deployment or unconditioned indoor environments.
