By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Tango Telecom (News - Alert) and Tata Communications announced the signing of a partnership agreement to provide hosted policy management solutions and charging control services for mobile network operators (MNOs). The collaboration is expected to cater to the ever increasing demand for mobile data access while allowing MNOs to enhance their subscriber loyalty with a variety of networking resources.

In a release, Tim Sherwood, vice president for mobile segment strategy at Tata Communications (News - Alert), said, “Our goal with the Hosted Policy Engine is to provide a pre-integrated best-of-breed policy engine that delivers economies of scale for MNOs. The collaboration with Tango Telecom’s industry leading Policy and Charging Control component will enable operators to implement policies based on subscriber, service tier, usage and context in real-time. This means operators can dynamically control network resources and react quickly to changing subscriber demands, optimizing data revenue for the operator.”

Tango Telecom’s Policy Control solution will be integrated into Tata Communications’ Hosted Policy Engine to empower MNOs to enhance their profitability by providing innovative, personalized and dynamic data services to their subscribers. The Hosted Policy Engine is designed to provide MNOs with an ideal platform to enhance their mobile data revenues by offering the best of the policy control solution coupled with the resource savings, service velocity and high flexibility of a low-risk hostel model.

Rory O’Toole, EVP of Alliances at Tango Telecom, said, “The key message here is reduced complexity, reduced cost and reduced time to market to roll out advanced mobile data services. As operators move towards NFV and away from traditional CAPEX procurement and in-network deployment models which can be both time and cost-prohibitive and inflexible to change, the Hosted Policy Engine encompasses all their current and future policy control requirements in quick to deploy, low risk secure cloud-based solution.”
