DNA, a telecommunications provider in Finland, has launched an on-demand television service on SeaChange International’s (News - Alert) Adrenalin multi-screen television software platform.

In a statement, Mikko Saarentaus, director of television business at DNA said, “We deliver TV content to over 900,000 Finnish homes through our cable and terrestrial offers. We are committed to expanding our entertainment offer even further, to cater to changing lifestyles and content consumption patterns. The launch of DNA Welho Viihde is a great start, and our efforts will not end here.”

The DNA Welho Viihde (DNA Welho Entertainment) allows viewers to watch television shows at any time and place. The service also includes SF Anytime, a movie rental store that offers thousands of movies from major studios.

All subscribers connected to the DNA cable network will be able to access the DNA Welho Viihde service. The service is also available to people living within the DNA terrestrial network coverage area. This includes nearly 600,000 households, forming about 85 percent of Finnish households.

To deliver this service SeaChange’s professional services team acted as the system integrator. The team coordinated various aspects including component selection and implementation in the delivery network, along with partners.

The list of contributions include SF Anytime content, Harmonic (News - Alert) transcoding, Edgeware streaming and storage, ATES single sign-on, Conax conditional access, Cubiware set-top client, and INTEK set-top hardware..

SeaChange Adrenalin provides a comprehensive multi-screen television software platform that allows service providers to offer new subscriber experiences to set-tops, tablets, smartphones, OTT players and other IP-connected devices.

The scalability features of the SeaChange Adrenalin multi-platform solution allows it to be upgraded to a multi-screen solution.
