By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Nevion (News - Alert), a provider of media transport solution, recently announced that TrueVisions, a Thailand-based cable and satellite television operator, has selected its live media transport solutions in an effort to meet the needs of its expanded HD offerings’ requirements.

Nevion, with expertise delivering high quality media transport systems for live contribution environments, explained that using its solutions one can seamlessly transport a range of content formats across a mix of network technologies, including IP, dark fiber, SONET/SDH and legacy video networks.

Thailand-based broadcast equipment provider Strong Brothers worked in tandem with Nevion to equip TrueVisions with live media solutions, such as Nevion Flashlink multiplexers and VikinX routers, which can blend media transport hardware with management and control software.

In a statement, Vichai Sernvongsat, chief technology officer at TrueVisions, said, “Nevion’s products have always been reliable and cost effective. We worked with Strong Brothers to achieve the highest possible uptime, and Nevion solutions once again provided the best quality and value.”

The modular 3G HD 256x256 VikinX router from Nevion consumes less power and dissipates less heat and has been deployed for the purpose of all signal flow at TrueVision’s disaster recovery site. Live broadcast transmission can be carried out over the main and backup routes using the VikinX solution.

Nevion’s Flashlink DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) solution, meanwhile, offers ultra-low power, compact form factor and high reliability for broadcast environments. The solution is packed with a completely fan-free environment, saving customers resources, and because there is no need for fan maintenance or replacements, the platform’s reliability is very high. TrueVisions deployed the Flashlink solution to enable fiber connectivity to its offsite backup recovery location.

Hans Hasselbach, senior vice president of Asia Pacific sales at Nevion added, “We’re extremely proud of our relationships with Strong Brothers and TrueVisions. They are innovators in the region and TrueVisions’ evolving infrastructure is a testament to their commitment to the highest quality live media services.”
