By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

From the newly forged partnership between TVU Networks and Vislink, broadcast, surveillance and other live event coverage customers can expect robust IP video and wireless solutions integrated with the best-in-class 3G/4G/LTE (News - Alert), satellite and microwave transmission technologies.

The two companies have stated that, thanks to the partnership, customers will now have an extended suite of solutions and network management capability unparalleled in the industry. The impact of this new partnership includes the unification of the companies’ major solutions, greatly enhancing the efficiencies of their client base.

TVU Networks offers TVUPack, a family of portable, lightweight video capture and transmission solutions that are designed to enable broadcasters to deliver professional broadcast-quality video of live news and events to audiences. The TVUPack supposedly leverages the features of HD or SD using multiple 3G/4G/LTE/Wi-Fi/WiMax/BGAN connections to transmit live video instead of relying on conventional methods like satellite and microwave remote broadcast products.

While the technology employed in Vislink solution is said to similar to that of existing wireless systems where electromagnetic waves are used to transmit signals over the open air to receivers. A unique feature of the Vislink technology is that the transmission media is the part of electromagnetic spectrum which falls into the visible range for the human eye.

Mike Payne, chief executive officer at Vislink, remarked, “As the innovators of the industry’s first hybrid cellular and RF transmission systems, NewStream and AirCam, Vislink understands the ever changing demands of live video collection, newsgathering and production. Vislink’s customer and partner focused strategy is to provide the most innovative solutions which enhance each customer's unique workflow requirements.”

TVU Networks asserted that in addition to broadcast, surveillance and sports have been growth areas and it is looking forward to working closely with Vislink in the future to further meet the needs of customers in these markets.
