Vodafone selects Sagemcom's 4K UHD

Sagemcom (News - Alert), a company that provides broadband terminals, recently announced that it will provide a hybrid IP/satellite Personal Video Recorder from its 4K UHD set-top box range to Vodafone (News - Alert) Germany. The solution will help Vodafone ensure more scalability for the end-users for records management. Sagemcom will supply the product to Vodafone in 2015.

Sagemcom 4K UHD set-top boxes include advanced features such as picture in picture, time shifting, record, allowing operators to deliver a superior multi-screen, multi-device viewing experience to their subscribers. This customizable product delivers crystal clear 4K UHD content with 60 frames per second (FPS), and is compatible with any type of front-end while building hybrid multi-tuner receivers and advanced recorders.

"We are proud to take part in the roll-out of the Ultra High Definition in Germany with Vodafone. Thanks to its cutting-edge embedded technology, our 4K UHD set-top boxes enable operators to deliver a superior viewing experience to their subscribers" said Olivier Taravel, deputy CEO of Sagemcom Broadband, in a press release.

A French high-tech group of international dimensions, Sagemcom operates on the broadband (digital home, set-top boxes, Internet routers, telephony and multimedia terminals), telecoms and energy (smartgrid and energy management) and retail. The company earns revenue of around 1.3 billion Euros ($1.68 billion) and employs 4,600 people across five continents.

Sagemcom recently announced that its XMediusFAX 7.5 has successfully been tested for compatibility with key communications and collaboration solutions from Avaya (News - Alert) (News - Alert) Inc., including Avaya IP Office 9.0, Avaya Aura Session Manager 6.3 and Avaya Aura Communication Manager 6.3.

XMediusFAX allows businesses to leverage their IP network and IP telephony services to easily and safely transfer important business communications, including purchase orders, records, reports and confidential documents. It also offers reliable fax service to small to midsized, as well as large enterprises.
