By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor

MobiTV, a company that provides live and on-demand multi-screen TV services, recently announced that its nVR software solution is powering Deutsche Telekom (News - Alert)'s Entertain to go streaming service. With the solution, subscribers using Entertain to go services can store the recorded programs in the cloud and watch them on any mobile device.

"We are committed to providing customers with the most advanced options in TV viewing," said Gert von Manteuffel, vice president of product management TV, Deutsche Telekom. "Since collaborating with MobiTV (News - Alert) to power Entertain, we are now the only company in Germany offering live TV, video on-demand and access to customers' recorded programs across multiple screens."

MobiTV’s end-to-end platform delivers a true TV everywhere experience that helps service providers reduce time to market and control costs associated with the deployment and operation of high concurrency, multiple platform services. MobiTV's connected media solutions solve the complexity of delivering video across networks, operating systems and devices while managing associated rights. The company efficiently optimizes for network conditions to deliver multiscreen media services that center on empowering the viewer.

"MobiTV's cloud based nVR solution further strengthens Entertain to go's leadership position in the market with anytime anywhere access to personally recorded content," said Paul Scanlan, president and cofounder of MobiTV. "Deutsche Telekom has always been a leader in this rapidly evolving industry, and with MobiTV's innovative solutions Entertain takes another giant step ahead of the competition."

In related news, MobiTV recently announced a strategic collaboration with Amlogic to provide the chipset for MobiTV's streaming stick solution. The Amlogic chipset will be the foundation of the white-labeled multiscreen service that brings a fully integrated experience to users.

Secure delivery of high-value content is essential to services powered by MobiTV's Connected Media Platform.  This integration with Amlogic’s AML8726-MX system on chip (SoC) chipset solidifies a secure, multiscreen experience for viewers. The AML8726-MX includes full 1080p high-definition video capabilities that enable operators to bring next-generation TV Everywhere offerings to the connected home at a cost-effective price point and produces world-class performance for full gaming and other processor-intensive in-home services.
