Outdoor Channel Launches HD XFINITY TV from Comcast

XFINITY customers will now be able to enjoy adventure entertainment programs with the launch of Outdoor Channel’s HD on XFINITY TV from Comcast (News - Alert). Outdoor Channel, pioneers in Outdoor TV, will bring the best in outdoor entertainment through an extensive list of outdoor and adventure programs which include features on hunting, conservation, fishing among a host of others, provided with widescreen clarity.

In a release, Tom Hornish, Chief Operating Officer, Outdoor Channel said that "We couldn't be more excited about extending our partnership with Comcast in Atlanta and commemorating the occasion with the Atlanta Braves and area outdoor enthusiasts.”

Outdoor Channel and XFINITY planned the launch of the HD network to coincide with the upcoming hunting season. They will join Atlanta Braves to host the pregame "Fields & Reels Outdoorsman Night" expo on Saturday in the Monument Grove area.

The event will be marked by appearances by Willie Robertson, star of Outdoor Channel's "Buck Commander Protected by Under Armour" and "Benelli Presents Duck Commander," and former Braves players who will all be joined by several area hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Randy Brown, Executive Vice President, Affiliate Sales & Marketing, Outdoor Channel said that "Thanks to the Atlanta Braves and the success of last year's event, we're able to bring two of America's favorite pastimes together for both outdoor enthusiasts and sports fans to enjoy. We are especially thankful to Comcast for giving Outdoor Channel the opportunity to further interact and engage with our viewers."

Through its collaboration with XFINITY, Outdoor Channel will bring activities and prizes at a jointly sponsored booth before the Braves vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks game which will be played in Turner Field.

McKnight Brown, Vice President of Marketing, Comcast Atlanta Region said that "The Outdoor Channel HD addition is yet another example of the company's larger commitment to deliver more content choices to our customers through our XFINITY service. Our subscribers will not only be entertained by the channel's powerful programming lineup, but they will get the opportunity to celebrate the outdoor lifestyle with some of the network's leading talent at the 'Fields & Reels Outdoorsman Night' expo.”
