Grande Communications to Exclusively Promote TiVo Premiere

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Grande Communications (News - Alert), a Texas-based broadband communications company, announced that it is going to exclusively promote TiVo Premiere DVRs and TiVo’s multi-room solution.

TiVo (News - Alert), a creator of advanced television services, explained that the TiVo Premiere is much more than a DVR – it is cable box, a movie box, a web box, and a music box. With Premiere, one will not only get the world’s supposedly best DVR, but will also get to enjoy access to a vast universe of broadband entertainment.

Hereon the Grande advanced television offering’s foundation will be the TiVo Premiere DVRs and TiVo's multi-room solution and the company will now be able to offer best-in-class entertainment experience not available from other satellite and telco offerings.

Some of the features of the TiVo Premiere are: connects to cable service and replaces existing cable box; works with cable and digital antenna and not with satellite; full HD support (also works with standard-definition TVs); smaller, more energy efficient and more powerful than previous TiVo generations; and more.

The partnership’s new service will provide customers traditional television, Internet-delivered video and interactive applications as well as Grande's Video on Demand offerings in single user interface.

Grande asserted that the ability to deliver a truly differentiated video service in an already crowded environment is by no means an easy task. It wanted a partner that would help them provide the most dynamic advanced television viewing experience to customers and its search for that partner started and ended with TiVo. The company acknowledged that TiVo's deep understanding of how to successfully integrate cable and broadband content on a single set-top platform will enable viewers to easily navigate, search and discover content from across traditional television channels, the Internet and Grande’s own VOD library in a simple, intuitive fashion that is unlike anything else available on the market today.

Officials with TiVo commented that operators are increasingly turning to TiVo to help them customize and deploy an advanced television offering that is cost effective for the operator, flexible and can be brought to market quickly. TiVo is eager to begin working with Grande as they share its vision for the future of television and how best to deliver it to viewers.
