Mexus Gold US Completes First Week of Cable Salvage Operations

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

Mexus Gold US, a company engaged in the mining industry for the purpose of producing precious metals, including gold, silver and copper, from its projects, has completed the first week of salvage operations for the recovery of cable, which contains a significant amount of copper.

The salvaged cable is on the deck of the barge. Cable salvage operations are to continue until winter. Captain Brian Farcy stated that apart from a brief patch of rough weather and an 'occasional cable break', operations were pretty smooth.

He also stated that the retrieval equipment was functioning properly and as expected and everything was going according to plan. The Submarine Cable Pulling Barge had a 230 foot four million pound capacity.

The cable salvage project is essentially designed for the purpose of retrieving cables that contain a significant amount of copper. After the first week of operations, the survey boat has moved to an entirely new location.

In order to identify cable locations, survey operations are likely to be continued at the new location. An offshore boar has been purchased for this purpose. This can be moved to different sites as and when required. Using sophisticated electrical equipment, Mexus claims that it has been successful in identifying underwater cables.

Mexus Gold US has projects located in the state of Sonora, Mexico and in the states of Nevada and Alaska. It is dedicated to protecting the environment, providing employment and education opportunities for the communities where they operate.
