By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Cablevision Systems (News - Alert) has launched Optimum Voice Click-to-Call that allows Optimum Voice customers to make phone calls directly from their Web browser.

The new service enables customers to turn phone numbers on Web pages into clickable links for one-stop dialing.

Cablevision is offering the free service to any Optimum (News - Alert) Voice customer household and users can access the service with any Optimum ID associated with an active account.

“With Optimum Voice Click-to-Call, we are enabling one-click dialing from any Web browser, anywhere,” said Joseph Varello, Cablevision's vice president of digital voice product management, in a statement.

“Optimum Voice has always been more than a static “landline” phone service. Click-to-Call represents the ongoing evolution of our voice services outside the home, providing a seamless and simple way for our customers to connect with the people and places they want to reach with the click of the mouse,” Varello added.

The Optimum Voice Click-to-Call service is meant to offer more convenience, greater control and faster, easier access to the people and businesses they want to reach with the ability to place phone calls from any Web site via their Web browser and an Internet connection.

College students can use Click-to-Call while away at school to place calls back home or to anywhere in the U.S. for free, or to any international destination using an Optimum Voice international calling plan.

Recently, Cablevision Systems announced the launch of a new iO en espanol programming package, now with 45 Spanish-language channels and more content from Puerto Rico, Cuba and Peru. This new package offers more Spanish-language news and entertainment than ever before to customers across Cablevision's Tri-State service area.
