Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable recently announced the launch of 20 new high definition (HD) channels in the Dallas area. This adds to the services they have introduced in the area over the past 6 months. With these HD channel additions that come with popular news, sports, and entertainment programming, customers of Time Warner in Dallas now have access to 134 HD channels.

Digital customers with an HD set top box and the necessary degree of service will have access to top ranking cable network channels in HD. Some of them are E! HD, Oxygen HD and OWN HD. One will also be able to view showtime movie channels such as FOX Deportes HD, IFC HD, and Bloomberg (News - Alert) Television HD among others.

In a release, Steve Dvoskin, area vice president of Operations for Time Warner Cable in North Texas said, "These HD channel additions are just the latest in product and service enhancements we've rolled out in Dallas during the latter part of 2011. We are committed to bringing the most advanced technology to our Dallas customers so they can continue to be connected to the latest HD programming, entertainment and each other."

There have also been improvements in Internet service and the consumers in Dallas area customers now have the chance to utilize super fast speeds of Wideband Internet. Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet offers right up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) for downstreaming and around 5 Mbps for upstreaming. In the past half year, Time Warner Cable was able to raise the speeds for Road Runner Standard customers. They have taken them from 10 Mbps x 1 Mbps that was provided earlier to 7Mbps x 512Kbps currently.

There are several cutting edge products as well as speed enhancements that are being offered as part of SignatureHome suite of services. These were also made available in the past 6 months in the Dallas area. SignatureHome also handles services that are targeted at every expanding residential sector for which personalized services are very important.

These services should also include installation and post sales care. SignatureHome clientele are generally given access to a highly trained team of SignatureService agents. These include Personal Solutions Advisors (PSA) as well as Connections Specialists.

In other news, Time Warner Cable recently announced the launch of the TWC TV app for Android (News - Alert) smartphones. The free app allows Digital TV customers to search program listings by title or episode name, browse network schedules, set favorite channels and even program their DVR right from their smartphone.
