ATEME, a provider of MPEG-4 video compression solutions, has opened a new regional office in Seoul, South Korea.

Officials with ATEME said that the new office which is located in Jongno-gu within central Seoul is close to the company’s telecom and broadcast clients and will provide enhanced support for existing deployments, as well as develop new market opportunities in Korea, Japan and the Pacific.

Company officials said that Eunsook WI will direct the Korean office. WI was recently promoted as regional manager after building a solid sales engineering experience at the company’s headquarters in Paris.

"We are extremely proud to expand our presence and work on new opportunities in this region" said Emmanuel Boureau, vice president of sales, ATEME, in a statement.

Boureau commented that ATEME is a prominent expert in the video compression market, providing innovative solutions for broadcasters and triple or quadruple play service providers worldwide.

“Increasing our global footprint and promoting talented individuals such as WI are key growth factors for our company" said Boureau.
